April 2014 Update

It has taken a while, but it seems that Spring is finally in the air!  I took great delight in watching my crocus flowers appear from beneath the leaf mulch in my garden over the past few days.  The tulips will not be far behind. Thinking about doing some more gardening this year?  It's not too late to start your seeds!  Want to learn more about gardening, the natural world, or a ton of other topics related to the environment?  Come to the annual South Shore Sustainability Expo & Forum tomorrow!  Gardeners of all kinds will be on site to answer your every question!

A hearty welcome to those who joined in the past month:
You can find out more about these groups and individuals, including what sustainability products, services, interests and ideas they have, by viewing their profiles on the Network website.

Remember, Network membership is 100% FREE and open to families & individuals, businesses, non-profit organizations and community groups, and institutions & government departments.  As a general rule of thumb, members are welcome to join from Bridgewater AND area – that means anywhere in Lunenburg County.

Stories from the CSN Blog

Starting April, blogging on the CSN page will continue. April is Sustainability Expo and Forum month and as the forum topic is Climate Change, I invite you to read my thoughts and questions in my new blog post: Climate Change Forum – What Can We Do?

Because for me it all comes down to what I can do! And what about you? E-mail me at martinagroeger@hotmail.com or leave a comment on the blog page or on our Facebook page.

South Shore Sustainability Expo & Forum - Tomorrow

We hope to see you at our CSN booth at the Expo from 9AM to 2PM (NSCC campus in Bridgewater), as well as at the informal Networking Session from 1:30 to 2:30PM (at Osprey Ridge Golf Club), where you can meet other CSN members and share stories and information about topics of interest. Car-pooling available from the NSCC campus and back.

Finally join us in welcoming Dr. Edith Callaghan, who will bring us the latest information on both very real issues facing our communities, as well as the tangible things we can all do to make a difference. Dr. Callaghan has the distinction of having been recognized and trained by Al Gore ("an Inconvenient Truth") as a "Climate Leader" and many of her academic and professional activities focus on addressing climate change. Join us at the Forum from 2:30 to 4:30PM (at Osprey Ridge Golf Club).  It promises to be an exciting day!
