July 2013 Update

Are you planning to attend our quarterly CSN meeting next Tuesday night the 16th at town hall (60 Pleasant St.)?  We'll be having an interesting discussion and it's open to the public, so bring a friend! These meetings take place every 3 months, and are divided into 2 parts:

1) An education session on a particular topic of interest to the Network
  • "Economics of Local Food" - featuring Hana Nelson from the Department of Agriculture talking about the Local Food Week coming up in September.
  • Open to members of the public
  • From 6:30 to approximately 7:15 PM
2) An update on the Network and its activities.
  • Meet other members
  • Work together to create a sustainable community
  • Learn about 3 action teams and find out how to get involved
  • From approximately 7:15 to 8:00 PM

You are welcome to attend either one or both parts of the meeting.  We look forward to seeing you there!

In other news, if you're in the mood for a sustainability-themed field trip to the city, check out these attractions:

The building site for the new central library. So fun to watch it go up!

And finally, don't forget to make the most of your local produce this summer! Get started with my new column in the Progress Bulletin and have some fun with strawberries before they disappear.

Sustainably yours,
Elisabeth Bailey, Social Media Coordinator
