Cheese Making 101 - A Complete Introduction to Making Cheese

  • Sun, October 25, 2015
  • 11:30 AM - 5:00 PM
  • Sweetwood Farm, 637 Hirtle Road, Blockhouse NS

Sweetwood Farm invites you to join them in their 18th century farmhouse kitchen for a full day of learning all about cheese and cheese making on Sunday, October 25th from 11:30am to 5:00pm. Learn all the basics to equip yourself to make all types of cheese at home. You will also make up to five different kinds of your very own cheese to take home from different kinds of milks (learning how milk from different species of animals differs). This will be a fun and informative day out where you can share in lunch and a formal cheese tasting session. If time permits, you can even visit with the farm's dairy goats and pigs, as well as viewing Sweetwood Farm's newly licensed micro scale milking parlour. Cheese making kits and supplies will be available for purchase on the day of the workshop.

To register for this workshop e-mail Heather Squires at heather_squires@hotmail.com or call (902) 624-0904. There is a fee of $110 to attend the workshop.

Private classes are also available, customized to your learning needs (for example: goat keeping combined with cheese making).
